Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development

The objective of this pilot project is to improve the process for identification and use of state lands transferred to poor and formerly landless or land-poor people.

On land tenure, the project will provide training, incremental operating costs, goods and contracted technical services to commune councils to prepare plans for Social Land Concession (SLC) subprojects. More specifically, the project will support commune councils in identifying SLC areas, in carrying out environmental and social screening to refine the area boundaries, and in proposing the area formally for state land mapping, allocation and registration.
