The present Regulation is made under the Private Managed Forest Land Act. The Regulation provides for determination of exit fees and lays down provisions relating to critical wildlife habitat, including appeals.
This Act seeks to empower communities to fully engage in sustainable management and conservation of forests of Liberia by creating a legal framework that defines and supports community rights in the management and use of forest resources.
The overall aim of the present Forestry Development Master Plan is to provide a basis for achieving sustainable utilization and development of forest and wildlife resources, modernization of the timber industry and conservation of the environment, and thereby ensure realization of the objectives of the Forest and Wildlife Policy.
The right of property in Turkmenistan is recognized and protected, the law ensures inviolability, equal protection and equal conditions for the development of all types and forms of property. Objects of property can be: land, subsoil, water resources, forests, flora and fauna, mining allotments.
The Governor shall appoint a Chief Forest Officer (sect. 3). The Governor may appoint forest officers (sec.4). The present Act applies to private managed forest land other than land that is in a tree farm licence area, a woodlot licence area or a community forest agreement area. Section 4 decrees that the Private Managed Forest Land Council is established as a corporation consisting of the members appointed under section 6.
The declared (sect. 3) objects of the Act are: ensuring effective and ecologically sustainable management of forest resources; promotion of a sustainable commercial timber industry, and; protection and conservation of forest resources, habitats and ecosystems including the maintenance of ecological processes and genetic diversity.
These Regulations are designed to standardise applications for payment of compensation under the Forestry Acts.
