Tanzania’s plan to draft in small-scale entrepreneurs, and produce at least 700,000 tonnes of sugar annually by 2025 is ambitious, to say the least.
However, this does not in any way mean that the plan is impossible to execute or ill-advised.

A curious fact about Kenya's conservation efforts is that there is no institution, government or any other authority, that can authoritatively give the exact figure of the forest cover.

Over the years, even government ministers have been giving varying indicators on whether the country is losing its forests or gaining cover.

At Global Canopy we focus on the market forces driving two thirds of deforestation worldwide.

We do not create protected areas to keep rainforests standing, but focus instead on the production, trade and financing of the key commodities responsible for agricultural expansion into tropical forests.

We provide data, insight and guidance for the companies, investors and governments already taking positive action, and help shine a light on those that need to do more.

Climate change, deforestation and poverty are global issues that go beyond the reach of single companies or governments; it takes public-private cooperation to solve them.

IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative brings governments, companies, CSOs and financiers together in action driven coalitions. We orchestrate the powers of law, of entrepreneurship and investments to work together to create solutions for global sustainability issues at scale.

Imazon

Imazon (Imazon)
