Les autres pays, y compris ceux que l'on croyait bénéficier d'un climat équatorial ou tropical, sont menacés par la sécheresse et la désertification. La persistance de la sécheresse, compromet sérieusement les activités productives nécessaires au développement socio-économique équilibré du continent.
