    En este trabajo se analiza con un método teórico descriptivo la actitud asumida por la Argentina frente a los procesos UNASUR y MERCOSUR a través de tres acontecimientos que ilustrativos: la incorporación de Venezuela al Mercosur, la falta de articulación estratégica en el plano comercial externo por parte de Argentina y Brasil y el conflicto sobre las papeleras mantenido por Argentina con el Uruguay.
