    This Act makes provision for the appointment of the Director of Physical planning by then Governor-General, the constitution of the Town Planning Committee, grants powers to these institutions and the Minister in respect of town planning and provides rules relative to town planning. The Director shall be a technical adviser to the Minister and executive officer of the Committee. The Committee is granted powers to control town planning and construction in The Bahamas.

    This Act concerns a system of geospatial data collection and storage for the Bahamas. It establishes the Bahamas National Geographic Information Systems Centre, the Geospatial Advisory Council and the Bahamas Spatial Data Infrastructure Program. The Centre shall, among other things, serve as the Government's technical focal point for the collection and management of geospatial data on The Bahamas. It shall also ensure that the Bahamas Spatial Data Infrastructure (BSDI) assists policy-making in relation to policies and activities that may have a direct or indirect impact on the environment.

    This Act makes provision, among other things, for the sub-division of land in which provision is made for the construction of access roads.Sub-division plans shall be approved by the Town and Country Planning Committee and the Minister in accordance with this Act. Also the alienation of lots that are not marked on the survey plan require the approval of the Committee. Appeal from decisions of the Committee may be had with the Minister.

    This Act makes provision, among other things, for the sub-division of land of the Out Islands in which provision is made for the construction of access roads.Sub-division plans shall be approved by the Minister in accordance with this Act. Also the alienation any land of new sub-divisions requires the approval of the Minister and shall be subject to certain conditions. Some other restrictions on alienation are specified for lots that are not marked on the approved survey plan.

    These Rules, made by the Minister under section 65(5) of the Planning and Subdivision Act, 2010, concern the composition, functions and procedures of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board established under section II of the Act and provide rules with respect to appeals to be made to the Board from decisions of the Town Planning Committee appointed under section 5(1) of the Act. Subject to section 66 of the Act, a decision of the Board is final.

    These Regulations, made Minister under section 75 of the Planning and Subdivision Act, set out requirements for applications under the Act for, among other things: a Land Use Plan Amendment; a Zoning Bye-law Amendment; approval for a Site Plan; approval of a subdivision; approval for Severance. The Department of Physical Planning may require additional documentation including supporting information for an Environmental Impact Study. The Regulations also concern consideration of applications by the Department and the Town Planning Committee.

    This Act concerns the classification, declaration, construction, maintenance and control of public roads and some related matters such as the restriction on the discharge of water and other liquids from private lands onto public roads, the duty of owners of adjoining land in relation with vegetation, restriction on the removal of sand from coastal areas in the vicinity of public roads and the (compulsory) acquisition of land by the Minister and exchange of land for purposes of this Act.
