    The productivity of different lettuce groups and roquette was evaluated when sown in two different periods and cultivated either singly or intercropped. Theses experiments were carried out in Jaboticabal, São Paulo State, Brazil. The first growing period was from May to August (Autumn-Winter) and the second from September to November (Spring) of 2001. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications. The treatments consisted of the combination of the following factors levels: lettuce groups (crisp, cv.     The objective of this study was to analyze the growth of tree species planted in a topographic gradient in an area degraded for the construction of the dam of Camargos Hydroeletric plant, MG. At 155 months after planting, three transects following the slope, 15 m wide and variable length were allocated, subdivided in parcels of 12 x 15 m along the topographic gradient. Plants with diameter at breast height (DBH) 5 cm were identified and measured (DBH and height).

    O objetivo deste trabalho foi quantificar o armazenamento, a disponibilidade e a extração de água no solo por plantas de milho irrigadas e submetidas a déficit hídrico terminal, cultivadas sob sistema de semeadura direta e preparo convencional. Foram realizados dois experimentos durante os anos agrícolas de 1999/00 e 2000/01, em área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia Rural da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, fatorial, com quatro repetições.

    Em Luanda, capital de Angola, o Governo despejou coercivamente e de forma violenta milhares de pessoas que viviam em áreas habitacionais informais com pouco ou nenhum aviso prévio. Em violação das próprias leis de Angola e das suas obrigações internacionais de direitos humanos, o Governo destruiu casas, culturas e bens pessoais dos moradores sem um processo justo e raramente concedeu indemnização.

    Neste artigo, apoiados em referenciais empíricos retirados das lutas pela posse da terra, sugerimos que, como instrumento, a violência parece ser caracterizada pelo fato de ser uma forma especial de lidar com a questão da anomia. Isso admitido, propomos que os mecanismos de produção e de reprodução da violência são mecanismos de produção e de reprodução da heteronomia da vontade. É o que nos coloca a importância de uma discussão sobre os projetos de vida.

    The study of the urban transformation of Cotia, located in the periphery of the metropolis, aims the documentation of the region urban development, starting on the 18 century, and its analysis, taking São Paulo city as reference. This analysis was elaborated from the social-economics and spatial relations of the urban development, from the city adequation to the metropolitan area planning, from the linearity that the Raposo Tavares highway imposes to the urban composition and the characteristics of the middle-class residence condominiums determined to the territory.
