    The farming system at landscapes preserving and restoring soil fertility of agricultural lands have been developed. Typification of lands was made and the types of agricultural landscapes were allocated: plain, hollow-gully, and gully-field. The analysis of the current structure of arable areas was made and resulted in the assessment of structure's influence on the state of soil fertility. The main degradation processes reducing the fertility of south chernozems were studied. There were proposed the ways of creating the sustainable artificial agricultural landscapes.

    In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was presented results of seed production adapted and new varieties of vegetable pea (Pisum), including 39 samples, selected the most valuable ones for this indicator, and identified donors and sources of basic agronomic characters – leafless, nonshattering seeds, resistance to lodging, limited linear stem growth, etc. The following recognized in the republic varieties were taken were chosen as the standards for the comparison: in early-maturing group –Sfera; of mid maturing – Vlad; and late maturing one - Betafortuna.

    Doubling of population, since the 1970s, in the Aral Sea Basin of Central Asia led to the increased demand for water and energy. The shift of the key upstream reservoir on the Naryn River, main tributary of the Syrdarya River, from irrigation to hydropower generation reduced available water for irrigation in the summer and created excessive flows in the winter. The downstream reservoirs do not have free capacities for storing the excessive winter flows. This report examines the possibility of additional subsurface storages of water in a part of the Syrdarya River Basin, the Fergana Valley.

    Estimated monetary value of agricultural lands supposes determination of the profit part attributable to land itself (ground rent), but the only characteristic is insufficient for complex evaluation of land cost. Volatility of profitability of agricultural lands, depending on seasonal fluctuations, along with economical risks, requires to be considered for calculation of the capitalization coefficient. The paper deals with the main approaches to determination of the capitalization coefficient while calculating monetary value of farm lands.
