    These provisions lay down some amendments and addenda to Regional Act No. 17 of 2013 making provision on environmental restoration and disposal of asbestos. The addenda concern the use of ecological methods to remove asbestos. Further amendments concern initiatives to promote education and information to prevent the use of asbestos. Penalties are updated as well.

    Legge Regionale n. 24: Disposizioni in materia di agricoltura sociale.

    This Regional Act aims at the promotion and development within Toscana of social agriculture, which refers to activities carried out by agricultural entrepreneurs, as defined under article 2135 of the Civil Code. Article 4 sets up the Regional Observatory on Social Agriculture; article 5 provides for the registration of related agricultural lands.

    In implementation of articles 17, 19 and 21 of Legislative Decree No. 22 of 1997, the present Regional Act lays down rules governing the environmental restoration of areas which have been polluted by waste. Furthermore, it makes provision on the elaboration of the Land Reclamation Plan (art. 3). Article 2 provides for the creation of the register of areas to be restored.

    In implementation of Act No. 257 of 1992, the present Regional Act lays down provisions intended to ensure the protection of public health against pollution caused by asbestos. The Act establishes preventive measures to be applied when decontamination interventions are carried out. Article 3 regards the Regional Plan on Asbestos to be adopted by the Lombardia Region. Further, article 5 concerns the registers and the information to be kept by each competent local health authority as regards those sites where asbestos exists.

    The Basilicata Region promotes and arranges a general land reclamation scheme in order to provide for the territorial maintenance, the rational exploitation of water resources, soil conservation, agricultural development and improvement of agricultural production. The Region shall elaborate directives so as to plan the interventions to be undertaken by safeguarding at the same time the rural environment. With a view to implementing the land reclamation plans, the regional territory devoted to the said land reclamation shall be divided into different territorial areas (art. 3).

    This Regional Act lays down provisions with a view to guaranteeing the rational and full use of all lands, in compliance with the related legislative framework provided for in Act No. 440 of 4 August 1978. Within 12 months from the entry into force of this Act, the Region shall designate those areas falling within its own territory where abandoned lands exist. Therefore, the regional authority shall perform a census and classify abandoned and uncultivated lands. Such information must be annually updated.

    The Regional Act makes provision on environment conservation and on the protection of the coastal zone of the territories listed in article 1. For the achievement of these aims, the Region encourages cultivation of the abandoned lands specified by article 2. Within six months from the entry into force of this Act, the regional authority shall prepare a register listing the enterprises and farms which fall within the above-mentioned areas. Registered enterprises may perform the activities defined by article 3, which are intended to improve the viticulture sector.
