    This Act makes provision for the conservation, use, management and control of land situated in mountain catchment areas. "Mountain catchment area" means any area declared by the Minister under section 2 to be a mountain catchment area.

    This Act concerns the imposition of a municipal rate on (rights in) immovable property and public service infrastructure envisaged in section 229(1)(a) of the Constitution. The Act makes provision for exemptions, rebates and reductions on properties used for agricultural purposes, and defines criteria for this purpose. Municipalities may set differential rates for various properties including land used for agriculture and protected areas in the sense of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003.

    This Act: grants power to the President of South Africa to establish lake areas by Proclamation; establishes the Lake Areas Development Board for purposes of management of lake areas established under this Act; defines regulation-making powers of the Minister; and provides for other matters relative to the control and management of lake areas and the Board.The object of the Board shall be to control, manage and develop any State land situated within any lake area.

    The Act concerns the setting aside of land as a national park and for the appointment by the Minister of the Board of Trustees, which shall control, manage and maintain national parks. The Board shall be a body corporate. It may in national parks, among other things: take measures that will ensure the preservation and security of animals and vegetation and set aside parts of a park as breeding places for animals or nurseries for vegetation. The Act also provides rules for the hunting of animals or the damaging or gathering of plants in a national park.

    This Act, among other things, recognizes the Minerals Management Board as established by section 214 of the Constitution and provides rules relative to exploration and exploitation of minerals in Swaziland.
