    Austral summer frosts in the Andean highlands are ubiquitous throughout the crop cycle, causing yield losses. In spite of the existing warming trend, climate change models forecast high variability, including freezing temperatures. As the potato center of origin, the region has a rich biodiversity which includes a set of frost resistant genotypes. Four contrasting potato genotypes –representing genetic variability- were considered in the present study: two species of frost resistant native potatoes (the bitter Solanum juzepczukii, var. Luki, and the non-bitter Solanum ajanhuiri, var.

    The Right to Food and the Responsible Governance of Tenure: A dialogue towards implementation aims to provide guidance for the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) which were endorsed in May 2012 by the Committee on World Food Security. More specifically, the study begins with a general introduction of the global context within which the developing process of the VGGT took place.

Es indudable, nos dice el autor, que en la actualidad y en un marcado contexto de modernización en los países andinos, existen nuevas oportunidades y riesgos de exclusiones. Por ello, hoy más que nunca, se hace imprescindible indagar alternativas e innovaciones de mercado para nuevas relaciones entre el campo y las ciudades.
