La régénération de la mangrove n’est pas une tâche simple, elle nécessite un certain nombre de précautions et d’engagements de la part des populations concernées et des autorités locales tout comme les institutions gouvernementales et/ou non gouvernementales. L’un des principes de réussite de cette activité de reforestation est de rendre les communautés locales actrices et porteuses du projet. Dans ce cadre, la sensibilisation des populations riveraines aux enjeux de la protection des ressources naturelles : mangrove, couvert végétal et stocks de poissons apparaît primordiale.

Il fait apparaître l'évolution des différentes approches et méthodes, les compare et souligne les améliorations effectuées ainsi que les questions qui restent à résoudre.

Cette étude est un document de synthèse dont l’objectif est de contribuer au développement d’une approche des SADA centrée sur le consommateur comme acteur autonome. Après un bref rappel sur la faible place qu’occupe le consommateur urbain africain dans les politiques, programmes et recherches sur les SADA africains, il est proposé un cadre d’analyse qui prenne en compte les différentes dimensions culturelles, sociologiques et économiques du concept de consommateur urbain en Afrique francophone de l’ouest.

Les articles sont dits de faon intresser les lecteurs dont le travail porte essentiellement sur le thme choisi, ainsi que la majorit des lecteurs qui travaillent dans d'autres disciplines.

Based on the information collected during a survey in the Republic of Guinea, this study concentrates on the country's main NWFPs. Among these are medical plants, tooth picks, cola nuts, shea tree nuts, honey, food plants, palm wine, bushmeat, rattan, bamboo, and wild fruits. Also, past, present and future tendencies are investigated in relation to consumption, commercialisation and export of these products. Furthermore, national legislation surrounding NWFP is analysed as are the potentials and weaknesses of the information gathering process.

This regional study presents an overview of the socio-economic importance and ecological impact of the use of non-wood forest products (NWFP) in Africa. The document consists of two main parts: i) presentation of background information on the programme activities and analysis of the available information on the regional and sub-regional level (both in English and in French); and ii) presentation of data on NWFP on the national level (so-called “country profiles”, available in either English or French).
