All three countries returned ownership of the majority of land to the rural population.

Bangladesh retains a strong commitment to social cohesion and to a progressive development agenda. The accelerated economic growth in the country is a consequence of this socio-economic development particularly in regards to the growth of agriculture sector.

The direct human consequences of this change affect the vast majority of rural residents, who carry out the essential work of food production and contribute to maintaining ecological balance.
