    This Act defines the powers and functions of the Manx Utilities Authority as established by article 4 of the Transfer of Functions (Manx Utilities Authority) Order 2014 and the Department of Infrastructure, and provides with respect to collection and distribution of water in the Isle of Man. Some provisions concern water pollution. The Authority shall comply with such directions regarding the exercise of its functions as may be given by the Department.

    These Regulations provide a consolidated system of environmental permitting in England and Wales. They transpose provisions of 15 Directives which impose obligations required to be delivered through permits or capable of being delivered through permits. They define the term “regulated facility” and require every regulated facility to be operated under the authority of an environmental permit.

    This Act defines functions of the Manx Utilities Authority ("Authority") and landowners in respect of prevention of flooding and flood risk management (FRM) and relevant waterworks. The Authority— (a) must administer this Act and monitor and enforce compliance with it; and (b) is responsible for, and must generally supervise, all matters relating to FRM.

    The 26 December 2004 earthquake and tsunami devastated the lives of millions. With considerable determination, local communities have joined national and international organizations and governments to bring relief and start the recovery work. FAO has been involved in assisting the affected countries in numerous ways so that agricultural activities may be resumed. While short-term assistance is indispensable, strategic planning for medium and long-term rehabilitation in collaboration with partners and governments is required for appropriate intervention.

    These Regulations implement in relation to planning in Northern Ireland, Article 12 of Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances. They amend the Planning (Development Plans) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991 to add to the matters that the Department shall have regard when formulating its development plan policies and the Planning (Hazardous Substances) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 by substituting a new Schedule 3 prescribing the substances which are hazardous substances and their controlled quantities.

    These Regulations implement the land-use planning obligations in Directive 2012/18/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances. They specify the substances which are hazardous substances for the purposes of the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and the controlled quantities of those substances. They also lay down the procedure for applications for consent and the determination of applications.
