    The purpose of this Agreement is to create a transboundary biosphere reserve "West Polesie", consisting of three national biosphere reserves, and cooperation on protection and sustainable development of the region in conformity with UNESCO's "Man and the Biosphere" (MAB) program. The Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of protection and sustainable use of biological and landscape diversity of the transboundary biosphere reserve "Western Polesie”.

    This Decree validates the forms of reports of sample selection and measurements of environmental indices related to emissions to the atmospheric air from stationary and mobile sources, effluent waste water discharge to surface waterbodies, sources of pollution of groundwater, effluent waste water discharge to sewerage system, soil pollution and waste disposal sites.

    These Sanitary rules and regulations shall ensure radioactive security in the process of performance of work in areas with radioactive contamination and radiation control in the aforesaid areas. State sanitary supervision related to compliance with the provisions set forth by this regulation shall be performed in accordance with the modalities envisaged by the acting legislation. Authorization for work in the area of Chernobyl atomic power station shall be issued in the presence of sanitary certificate for handling sources of ionizing radiation issued by state sanitary supervision bodies.

    This Decree establishes the criteria for general improvement of the territory and landscaping, in particular urban land and land of inhabited residential areas, as a form of land-use planning. It establishes that territory must be kept clean, free of waste, and have recreational areas and recreational waterbodies for the benefit of the population. Protected areas must have recreational areas with available wood-fired grills (barbecue).

    This Decree establishes the modalities of performance of local environmental monitoring by legal persons performing economic and other activities causing negative environmental impact, including ecologically hazardous activities. Local environmental monitoring shall be integral part of the National environmental monitoring system. Local environmental monitoring shall include: (a) emissions to the atmospheric air by stationary sources; (b) effluent waste water discharge to surface waterbodies; (c) groundwater in areas of potential pollution; and (d) soil in areas of potential pollution.
