    This Notice contains in its Schedules declared customary law on guardianship, inheritance and wills. As to guardianship of women and children, certain powers and restrictions are placed un guardians regarding agricultural crops and livestock. A guardian is forbidden from selling land or permanent crops which are under his protection. As for inheritance, women are allowed to inherit except clan land. They can use clan land without selling it during their lifetime. But if there are no men in that clan, a woman can inherit this land completely.

    These Regulations make provision for the declaration, administration and management of wildlife management areas and the establishment of Community Based Organizations for such administration and management. They also provide for non-consumptive and consumptive utilisation of resources of wildlife management areas, the resolution of disputes and management of conflicts in such areas and define offences.Any village intending to designate an area as a Wildlife Management Area shall first establish a Community Based Organization in the manner prescribed under the Trustees’ Incorporation Act.

    These Regulations, made under section 67 of the Land Tenure Act, concerns procedures for allocation of plots of (agricultural) land and related matters. “Allocation” means the process used by the Government for the distribution or provision of a land as a right of occupancy or lease to an individual or a group of persons or legal persons or institutions and organizations. The Minister shall not allocate Land unless there is a site plan in the application file approved and signed by the Director of Survey and Urban Planning showing the actual demarcation of the of the parcel or parcels.

    An Act to regulate land tenure in villages establishedpursuant to Operation Vijiji, to provide for the settlement of land disputes and for connected purposes.

    This Act regulates land tenure in villages established pursuant to a settlement and resettlement program in the 1970's. Section 3 provides for the extinguishment of all rights to occupy or to use land in accordance with any customary law existing or held or claimed to be held by any person in any village. Compensation shall not be paid for the loss of any right or interest in or over land which has been extinguished.

    Subsection (2) of section 13 is renewed. It provides for the publication of a permission to carry out development. The new section 15 concerns appeals by persons aggrieved by a permission to carry out development. Objections may be lodged with the planning authority. Appeal against the decisions of the authority may be had with the British Resident.
