The Lands, Housing and Urban Development Sector Strategic Plan is a national sectoral plan of Uganda for the period 2013/14 - 2017/18. Its main objective is to ensure sustainable land management, orderly development and adequate housing for socio-economic development.The Plan aims to make land use more productive and sustainable.

This Rural Land Use and Administration Policy of the Afar National Regional State seeks to provide an answer to the following problems: The traditional land administration and use system is not in line with the formal government land administration and use system.
This National Land Policy will guide the country towards efficient, sustainable and equitable use of land for prosperity and posterity. The Mission of the Policy aims at: promoting positive land reforms for the improvement of the livelihoods of Kenyans through the establishment of accountable and transparent laws, institutions and systems dealing with land (sec. 1.3). The overall objective of the National Land Policy is to secure rights over land and provide for sustainable growth, investment and the reduction of poverty in line with the Government’s overall development objectives.
The South Sudan Development Plan (SSDP) 2011-2013 is a national planning instrument adopted by the Government as a response to core development and state building challenges during the first three years of independence. It is based upon the theme of realising freedom, equality, justice, peace and prosperity for all. The plan identifies key development objectives for the new Republic of South Sudan and outlines priority programmes for achieving these objectives.
