    This booklet presents an overview of the issue of soil management practices in Africa. It briefly presents the 12-Resolution “Abuja Declaration on Fertilizer for the African Green Revolution” adopted in 2006 and contextualizes the 2014 adoption by the 23rd Summit of the African Union of the Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihoods that reaffirmed that agriculture should remain high on the development agenda of the continent.

Suscitando gran aceptación por parte de los gobiernos, la sociedad civil y el sector privado, representan un marco insesgado en el que actualmente se mantienen nuevos diálogos sobre tenencia, se desarrollan nuovas competencias y se influencian nuevas políticas de modo participativo.

    Since the 1960s, FAO has taken the lead in the fight against hunger in Somalia, supporting the Government and rural communities in times of crisis as well as in pursuit agricultural development goals. Special attention is devoted to helping rural communities withstand recurrent shocks, such as drought, flooding, and plant and animal pests and diseases. Through resilience programming, FAO balances technical support with the provision of quality inputs to prevent or lessen the impact of shocks to livelihoods and keep development gains intact.
