Local and indigenous communities across the world are advancing innovative sustainable development solutions that work for people and for nature. The paper, divided into four sections, discusses the tribal displacement briefly in section one. The second section provides a bird’s eye view of dam-induced displacements in Orissa. Experiences related to four major dams of Orissa have been discussed in section three. Concluding observations have been presented in the last section.
