This Regional Act abolishes the Regional Agency for Parks and the Regional Agency for Soil Protection and provides for the rearrangement of administrative functions in this field. Subsequent amendments are laid down to regional provisions concerning the management of protected areas.

These provisions set out the legislative framework governing the rehabilitation of polluted sites of regional interest (which are defined under article 3). The regional authority is in charge of the adoption of the regional plan on rehabilitation of polluted sites (art. 4); articles 5 and 6 define the functions of the Provinces and Municipalities in this field.

The purpose of this Legislative Decree is to achieve integrated prevention and control of pollution arising from the activities listed in Annex I, in order to reach a high level of protection of the environment taken as a whole. It lays down measures aimed at reducing and preventing emissions in the air, water and land from said activities ( which are, among others, energy industrial activities, production and processing of metals, waste management ). An authorization is compulsory to operate all or part of installations listed in Annex I.
This Regional Act sets out the legislative framework for promoting the economic and social development of mountain areas. To this end it promotes the creation of “mountain unions” which are composed of municipalities falling within mountain territories. These entities shall exercise the functions listed in article 3, which cover the following areas: land reclamation in mountain territories; management of waters resources; forest management; renewable sources of energy. The Regional Fund for Mountain Areas is set up for the attainment of the objectives pursued by this law.
The aim of this Act is the promotion and development of green spaces in urban areas. The Municipalities shall be responsible for developing urban green spaces within their territories, whilst a special committee under the Ministry of the Environment shall exercise monitoring functions.
This Regional Act sets up the Regional Agency on Forestry and Irrigation, which shall be responsible for implementing a coordinated system aimed at soil protection and forest management. The Agency shall also coordinate interventions concerning irrigation activities.
This Legislative Decree approves the Code on the Environment, which sets out the legislative framework applicable to all matters concerning environmental protection.The Code is composed of six Parts. Part I (arts. 1-3) defines the application scope and lays down general provisions applicable to all areas covered by the Code. Part II (arts. 4-52) defines and regulates the procedures related to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS), Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) and Integrated Environmental Authorization (IPPC). By way of implementation of Directive 96/61/EC, this Legislative Decree aims at the integrated prevention and control of pollution which arises from the activities specified in Annex I. There are established particular measures intended to prevent and reduce emissions into the air, water and land, comprising general principles in matter of waste management. Furthermore, the Legislative Decree regulates the issue and renewal of the environmental integrated authorization which is required for the installations mentioned in Annex I.
In compliance with the principles and rules laid down in Directive 96/61/EC, this Regional Act makes provision on integrated pollution prevention and control, with a view to securing a high level of protection of human health and the environment. In particular, the Act lays down rules governing the issue and renewal of the integrated environmental authorization of existing and new installations (those mentioned in Annex I to Directive 96/61/EC).
The Regional Acts and Regulations mentioned in the Annex attached to this Act are repealed.
