Cette option a entraîné la création de nouvelles catégories de permis, intermédiaires entre la mine industrielle et l’artisanat minier : la petite mine, et la mine artisanale semi-mécanisée. Situation qui a conduit à la présence, dans diverses Régions du Cameroun, d’un nombre important d’exploitants, et à une confusion dans l’esprit des communautés sur le statut et la nature des opérations minières se déroulant dans leur terroir.

Forced displacement in developing countries is a major obstacle to reducing poverty. It should no longer be considered a mainstream strategy for conservation and only applied in extreme cases following international standards.

Reports & ResearchFebruary, 2017Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mali, SenegalThis synthesis of our findings from an investigation of tenure risk in East, West, and Southern Africa, shows that a majority of tenure disputes are caused by the displacement of local peoples, indicating that companies and investors are not doing enough to understand competing claims to the land they acquire or lease. This failure in diligence is particularly noteworthy given that a majority of the disputes analyzed had materially significant impacts: indeed, a higher proportion of projects in Africa are financially impacted by tenure dispute than any other region in the world.

Cette commission est chargée notamment: d'organiser l'espace rural en zones agricoles et zones d'élevage; de définir les modalités d'utilisation des zones mixtes, qui sont insusceptibles d'appropriation privée; d'assurer le respect des délimitations agro-pastorales et de règler les litiges agro-pastoraux.
