En este artículo se explora si los conflictos socioecológicos vinculados a procesos de desposesión por inversiones turístico-residenciales pueden ser analizados desde la perspectiva de la visión que construyen estos sectores de su relación con el turismo. Se analiza el caso concreto de Guanacaste, Costa Rica, donde se ha experimentado una gran intensidad tanto en el desarrollo de la inversión turística como en los conflictos ecológicos por el agua, entre las comunidades rurales y las inversiones en turismo residencial apoyadas por el Estado.

The crucial event in the reporting period was undoubtedly Armenia’s war with Azerbaijan. On September 27, 2020 Azerbaijan started its war on Nagorno-Karabakh, a long-disputed region called Artsakh in Armenia, which lasted for 44 days. It ended on November 10, 2020, when Russia facilitated a cease-fire, apparently just after the Azerbaijani forces had captured most of the territories occupied by Armenia in the previous war in the early 1990s, plus a major chunk of Nagorno-Karabakh proper.

The enormity of the world’s dislocated population generated by contemporary conflicts has brought significant attention to a complicated process of returning housing, land and property (HLP) to their rightful occupants once conditions permit. As the complexity of large-scale HLP restitution becomes increasingly apparent, significant obstacles emerge that require examination. This article describes how the ‘evidentiary bind’ is such an obstacle.

قدم هذا التقرير مراجعة قانونية " لمشروع القانون والذى يقوم باقتراح بعض الأحكام بشأن الممتلكات المنقولة للدولة، وذلك بموجب القانون رقم 4 لسنة 7911 (مشروع القانون)"، الذي نشرته وزارة العدل بالحكومة الليبية في مارس 2013م . ولا يعد هذا التقرير مقتصراً على مناقشة مشروع القانون المعنىّ، إذ يسلّط الضوء على القضايا الرئيسة المختصة بأي استرجاع، والذى من شأن القانون أن يعالجه. ويعتمد مشروع القانون في معالجته على أسس العدالة الاجتماعية وأفضل الممارسات الدولية المتعلقة باسترجاع الممتلكات، بما في ذلك التعويض.

This paper examines the various ways local land conflicts affect sustainable land-use planning in peri-urban Ghana. In recent years, rapid urbanisation has resulted a high demand for customary lands for housing development in peri-urban areas in Ghana. Customary lands are continuously converted into housing uses; leading to eviction of indigenes from their farmlands. A mixed method approach was used to collect data from 40 participants from the research site, Aburaso.
