    Aquatic genetic resources (AqGR) play a crucial role in contributing to global food security and nutrition, as well as sustainable livelihoods. However, in various international fora, most FAO members have highlighted the limitations and constraints faced in assessing their national capacities to use, manage and conserve AqGR as well as in identifying and monitoring the resources used and the suitable indicators of the status of those resources.

    En 2014, la FAO a mis en place le projet GCP/SFC/001/MUL ‘La sécurité alimentaire renforcée en milieu urbain en Afrique Centrale grâce à une meilleure disponibilité de la nourriture produite localement’’’. Pendant 3 ans, le projet a apporté un soutien matériel et des formations à plus de 3 500 bénéficiaires situés au Gabon, Cameroun, Tchad, Guinée Equatoriale, Sao Tomé & Principe, et République du Congo.

    With an estimated 40 percent of people in Africa, South America and Asia living in drylands, land degradation poses a significant threat to food security and survival. This report looks at the relationship between gender and dryland management based on an analysis of field experiences in Africa and Asia. Highlighting the roles of women and men in dryland areas for food security, land conservation/desertification, and the conservation of biodiversity, it makes available key findings on a number of projects and programs in the regions.

    Malgré les considérables efforts visant à encourager l’adoption des pratiques de Gestion Durable des Terres, les taux d’adoption demeurent faibles, notamment parmi les femmes agricultrices, les migrants, les jeunes et les éleveurs (Koudougou & Stiem 20172). Ces groupes défavorisés jouent pourtant un rôle primordial dans l’agriculture familiale et dans la sécurité alimentaire.
