    La pertinencia de esta Guía procede de los diagnósticos previamente realizados. En ellos se identificó que las mujeres rurales experimentan distintos obstáculos para acceder a la justicia y a la tierra, como la discriminación estructural, el desconocimiento general acerca de sus derechos sobre la tierra y sobre temas relacionados con situaciones de violencia de género. También se identificó que las mujeres tienen necesidad de obtener información sobre cómo acceder a la justicia para poder hacer efectivos sus derechos.

    Microfinance programs targeting poor women are considered a ‘prudent’ first step for international financial institutions seeking to rebuild post conflict economies. IFIs continue to visibly support microfinance despite evidence and growing consensus that microfinance neither reduces poverty nor breaks the cycle of domestic violence. In the case of Timor-Leste, a feminist political economy approach reveals how microfinance engendered debt allows for the control, extraction, and accumulation of profits and resources by an elite class and exacerbates gender-based violence.

    LAND-at-scale is a land governance support program for developing countries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, which was launched in 2019. The aim of the program is to directly strengthen essential land governance components for men, women and youth that have the potential to contribute to structural, just, sustainable and inclusive change at scale in lower- and middle-income countries/regions/landscapes. The program is designed to scale successful land governance initiatives and to generate and disseminate lessons learned to facilitate further scaling.

It examines the international human rights instruments which guarantee the right to adequate housing of children and which aim to protect their inheritance rights. It analyses the essential components of the right to adequate housing and looks at Sri Lanka’s obligations to protect and promote these rights.
