Solano is a municipality located in the department of Caquetá within the deforestation arc of the Colombian Amazon, the second largest municipality in area of the country. Solano can only be reached by river, although there are already several trails that allow to reach the municipal’s capital by car at certain times of the year.

In Slovenia, the Natura 2000 network covers 35.5% of its territory or 286 areas, encompassing 10 forest habitat types. The majority of indicators for the assessment of the conservation status and changes of forest habitat types are to be estimated within the forest management planning framework. In this paper, a hierarchical concept of forest habitat types monitoring in Pohorje Mts (810 km2) was examined and presented, based on landscape structure and position of habitat types in this structure.

Mining, infrastructure development and tourism development, in particular, are undergoing rapid expansion, and all pose risks to Mongolia's globally important biodiversity.
Tanzania's land, local government and forest laws mean that rural communities have well defined rights to own, manage and benefit from forest and woodland resources within their local areas through the establishment of village forests. This approach, known by practitioners as Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) results in the legal establishment of village land forest reserves, community forest reserves or private forests. By 2008, 1,460 villages on mainland Tanzania1 were involved in establishing or managing village forests covering a total of over 2.345 million hectares.
The project seeks to recommend protocols and procedures that the Forestry Department can apply, in all Peninsular Malaysian states and in Sabah, for the assessment of key VJR attributes (conservation, research and other functions, condition threats) in order to provide a priority system that can indicate the quality and level of management required for the various VJRs.
