LegislationOman, Western AsiaThis Decree issues the Law on Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution and specifies the responsibilities of the Minister of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources.The Law is composed of 3 Chapters divided into 43 articles: Definitions and general provisions (I); Rules and principles to ensure safety of the Omani Environment (II); Penalties (III).The attached Appendixes list animals and birds of protected species of the first and second category.Chapter II provides rules to prevent environmental pollution.
