It has since been endorsed by multiple Multilateral Environmental Agreements as a global framework for biodiversity. In 2015, the members of the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

An Act to make provision for the prevention of unauthorized occupation of certain lands in the Karachi Division and unauthorized building thereon, and the eviction therewith.

This Act prohibits the occupation of certain lands, and the building of structures on these without obtaining previous permission by the Authorized Officer. The Provincial Government shall declare these lands to be controlled areas for the purposes of this Act. Offences and penalties are provided for in the Act.
