    The present Act provides for the continuation of the Heritage Manitoba as a body corporate consisting of the members of the board and such other persons as may become members pursuant to the by-laws. Section 9 establishes that the objects of the Foundation are, inter alia, to receive, acquire by purchase, donation o lease, and to hold, preserve, maintain or construct, restore and manage property both real and personal of historical, architectural, recreational, aesthetic or scenic interest for the use, enjoyment and benefit of the people of Manitoba.     The purpose of the present Act is: a) to enable First Nations and aboriginal communities on the east side of Lake Winnipeg to engage in land use and resource management planning for designated areas of Crown land that they have traditionally used; and b) to provide designated areas of Crown land on the east side of Lake Winnipeg with special protection from development and other activities that might occur on that land.

    The present Regulation lays down provisions relating to the subdivision of land. Section 2 establishes that a person proposting to subdivide private land within a provincial park shall apply to the Director of Parks.     The present Act implements the Conservation Districts Act (C-175). In particular, it refers to section 3 dealing with the Conservation Districts Commission.Subject to the approval of the Commission are: a) drainage improvement, development and maintenance; b) flood control; c) soil conservation; d) water conservation; e) recreation development; and f) such other programmes of resource conservation and development as the board may deem. The text consists of 20 sections.

    The present Act establishes an appointed body, the Manitoba Heritage Council. The Council advises and makes recommendation to the Minister of Manitoba Culture, Heritage and Tourism on provincial commemoration and legal protection of sites and structures. Council members represent various regions of Manitoba, have heritage expertise and make recommendations on proposals by applying standard assessment criteria to ensure consistent and objective decision-making.

    The purpose of this Act is to provide for the conservation, control and prudent use of resources through the establishment of conservation districts, and to protect the correlative rights of owners (sect. 2). The Act continues the Conservation Districts Commission and regulates its operation and functioning. The Act defines the procedure for the establishment of conservation districts and provides for the management of each district by a dedicated board and regulates the operation of such boards.
