    This Act amends the Landlord and Tenant Act: in section 3 subsection (2)(ab), by deleting the words “30 June 2012” and replacing them by the words “31 December 2017”; in section 34 subsection (2), by inserting, after the words “may provide”, the words “for the amendment of the Schedules and”; and by repealing Second Schedule and replacing it with the Second Schedule specified in the Schedule to this Act.

    These Regulations amend the Land (Duties and Taxes) Act in the Second Schedule by adding at the end of the Schedule a note on the definition of the date of transfers of specified transactions of purchase, including transfer by a lessee who is the holder of a new lease pursuant to section 6(1E) of the State Lands Act or section 10(3B) of the Pas Géométriques Act. Schedule 2 specifies rates for purposes of section 4(4) of the principal Act.

    These Regulations amend the Registration Duty Act in Part VII of the First Schedule (which specifies rates of registration duty) and in the Second Schedule in item 4A. The Second Schedule concerns calculation of the value of property for duty purposes.

    This Act regulates the alienation, lease and use of and control over “State land”, i.e. defence lands, ‘pas géométriques’ and all lands belonging to or in possession of the State. The Minister may sell State land other than defence lands, mountain reserves which belong to the State, ‘pas géométriques’ or river reserves which belong to the State (sect. 3). No State land shall be granted or leased otherwise than at its full rental value except for charitable purposes (sect. 4).
