    These Regulations make provision in relation to bringing into force sections 83 (core path plans) and 84 (access rights: service of court applications) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016. They also make transitory provision so that the references to “a repairing tenancy” inserted into various enactments by the provisions of schedule 1 are to be ignored until such time as section 92 of the 2016 Act comes into force for all purposes.

    This Act provides rules concerning how property passes on a person‘s death. This includes reforms which relate to the rectification of wills; the effect of divorce, dissolution or annulment on a will or special destination; and the revival of a revoked will. It concerns, among other things, survivorship, the provision of new rules where there is uncertainty about the order of death, forfeiture, estate administration, protections for trustees and executors in certain circumstances and for persons acquiring title in good faith.

    These Regulations amend the Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) (England) Regulations 2015 by substituting new Forms 3, 4 and 5 for the equivalent forms prescribed in the principal Regulations. Amendments have also been made to regulation 3A (Review) of the principal Regulations which require the Secretary of State to review the operation and effect of the requirement to use the prescribed forms inserted by these Regulations (Forms Nos 3, 4 and 5) and publish a report.

    These Regulations amend the Organic Aid (Scotland) Regulations 1994 so as to provide with respect to succession of rights of occupation of an agricultural holding and provide certain exemptions to this amendment.

    This Order amends Part 1 of Schedule 8 to the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 as it applies to England. Section 64 of the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 entitles the tenant of an agricultural holding, on termination of the tenancy and quitting of the holding, to compensation from the landlord for an improvement specified in Part 1 of Schedule 8 which the tenant has carried out on the holding.

    This Act provides for the reform of legislation regarding a Scottisch form of land tenure called crofting and for this purpose amends provisions of the Crofting (Scotland) Act 1993. The Act makes modifies the functionality and the name of the Crofters Commission and establishes a new Crofting Register, in which crofts, common grazings and land held runrig (a local system of common tenure and cultivation) are to be registered.

    This Act converts ultra-long leases (i.e. leases that were let for over 175 years and that have over 100 years left to run from the appointed day) into ownership. Certain leasehold conditions to real burdens. The Act also covers compensation for loss of landlord’s rights and provides exemption from conversion and continuing leases. The conversion of qualifying leases to ownership is automatic, unless the tenant chooses to opt. The Act extinguishes all rights and obligations arising from the qualifying lease and any superior lease.
