    These Regulations reform the law in Ghana with respect to the granting of timber rights and related matters. They (a) regulate the identification of land suitable for the grant of timber rights, (b) regulate the terms and conditions for small and large scale timber rights, (c) regulate other sources of timber, and (d) provide for a legality licensing scheme.The Forestry Commission shall identify lands suitable for grant of large scale timber utilisation contracts. The Regulations set out the procedures for the identification of lands (including owner consent).

    This Act allows the President to create, in the name of public interest, public statutory rights of way. Section 2 specifies the works for which statutory rights of way may be created. If a person is not satisfied with compensation assessed by the Minister for the establishment of a right of way, the matter may be referred to a Tribunal to be established under subsection (5) of section 6 by the President. (5 sections)

    These Regulations amend the Land Title Registration Regulations 1986 (L.I. 1341) in relation with fees for the registration of a mortgage or charge to secure future advances and for application of first registration of land and registration of land previously registered under the Land Registry Act, 1962 (Act 122). Furthermore, in various regulations the words “Part VIII of” are deleted.

    These Regulations implement provisions of the Timber Resources Management Act, 1997 with respect to the granting of timber rights and related matters and regulate the calculation and payment of stumpage fees and the registration and use of chainsaws.The Regulations set out the procedures for the inventory and reservation of specified lands for timber utilization. The Chief Conservator of Forests shall identify lands suitable for grant of timber utilization contracts and initiate procedures of inventory of forest resources on such land and to obtain consent of landowners.

The regulations are completed by 3 Schedules. The First Schedule contains no less than 53 forms applications, notices, deeds of transfer, summons, etc.
