    This country profile describes the state of the water resources and water use, as well as the state of agricultural water management in Uganda. The aim of this report is to describe the particularities of the country and the problems met in the development of the water resources, and irrigation in particular.

    Ce document a pour objet de donner un aperçu de ce qu’a été la coopération de la FAO avec le Royaume du Maroc depuis l’ouverture de la Représentation de la FAO à Rabat en 1982 en se concentrant sur les projets d’assistance technique. 134 projets nationaux de ce type ont été mis en oeuvre depuis 1982 pour un budget total de 49 millions de dollars. Durant cette même période, le Maroc a aussi bénéficié de l’appui de 60 projets régionaux couvrant plusieurs pays.

    Le Maroc qui dispose de ressources appréciables en sols, eau et forêts a décidé, dès son indépendance en 1956, de faire de l’agriculture, l’un des piliers de son développement. Il a également su mettre à profit sa double façade atlantique et méditerranéenne, qui recèle un important potentiel halieutique, pour assurer au secteur des pêches un élan de développement durable. De tels choix ont créé une dynamique de croissance économique régulière qui a permis d’assurer la sécurité alimentaire du peuple marocain.

    Desde 1996, la FAO y el Gobierno de Italia han colaborado en un ambicioso proyecto que se realiza a lo largo de la cuenca del r?o m?s largo del mundo. ?Productos informativos sobre los recursos h?dricos de la cuenca del Nilo? fue el nombre con el que se design? la suma global de tres proyectos consecutivos llevados a cabo en diez pa?ses de la cuenca del Nilo. Tras su conclusión oficial, en octubre de 2011, el proyecto fue entregado a la Iniciativa de la Cuenca del Nilo, una organización intergubernamental creada en 1999 que tiene su sede en Entebbe (Uganda).

    This report describes the project of strengthening the ability of the governments of the Nile Basin states to take informed decisions with regard to water resources policy and management in the Nile Basin.     Policy makers as well as scientists have started to acquire an honest appreciation of the possibilities of reducing the wastage of materials which could be profitably utilized for improving or maintaining soil productivity. In addition, the great opportunities offered by making more efficient use of the potentials of biological nitrogen fixation in farming systems are now fully recognized. A number of recommendations and suggested guidelines were made by the various Working Groups during the two-week Workshop.

    The focus of this review has been on both documenting the general resilience of many fish resources to climatic variability and its underestimation in livelihood importance, including in protracted crisis situations, but also on enhancing the potential supply of fish from dryland areas by better use of the available water bodies, and in particular from small reservoirs.
