The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to the various terms therein employed, such as "land", "building land", "building permit", "foreigner", "planning permission", etc. Part 3 regulates in particular the transfer of agricultural and forestry land and the requirements for its conversion into building land. Furthermore, it outlines the conditions and procedures for acquisition of land by foreigners. Part 3 establishes the competent authorities and, in particular, various Land Commissions.

Voor een bijna 100 ha groot tuinbouwgebied in de gemeente Hoorn zijn de ontwikkelingsmogelijkheden in de agrarische sector nagegaan. Het oorspronkelijke verkavelingspatroon van lintbebouwing met smalle lange tuinen vormt veelal een beperking voor een doelmatige bedrijfsinrichting. Gebleken is dat een deel van de tuinders desondanks bedrijven heeft opgebouwd die een bestaansbasis vormen voor een aantal medewerkers. Het merendeel van hen wil het intensieve bedrijf in het gebied blijven uitoefenen.

The importance of base-line reliable data on resource inventory for planning and management for sustainable exploitation of aquatic resources both in inland and marine sectors needs not to be over emphasised. They become all the more important in the highly dynamic situations of Bangladesh. Already terrestrial ecosystem is threatened with fast shrinking man land ratio. Population already stands above 110 million in the land of 55,598 square miles and expected to rise as high as 200 million by 2025. Every child born today would need 0.08 ha.
