    This Act sets forth procedures and principles of acquiring any land by the Government for public purposes. The acquisition of lands for public purposes shall only be made by the declaration of the Governor General. In addition, the Governor General may authorize officers for a preliminary survey or other investigation of the land, for the purchase of the land, for setting the borders of the acquired land, and for gathering information. The Governor General may state a decision for the abandonment of acquisition at any time before any land has been acquired compulsorily.

    The Coral Reef Conservation Act of 2000 shall: preserve, sustain, and restore the condition of coral reef ecosystems; promote the wise management and sustainable use of coral reef ecosystems to benefit local communities and the Nation; to develop sound scientific information on the condition of coral reef ecosystems and the threats to such ecosystems; to assist in the preservation of coral reefs by supporting conservation programs, including projects that involve affected local communities and nongovernmental organizations; to provide financial resources for those programs and projects; and

    This Act consists of 44 sections divided into 3 Parts. It regulates livestock and agricultural operations. It includes regulations for spreading manure or compost for all livestock operations in Alberta. The manure spreading regulations include requirements for manure incorporation, soil nitrogen and salinity limits, setback distances, record keeping and soil testing. The Natural Resources Conservation Board is responsible for the inspection, approval and authorization of livestock operations (for example seasonal feeding and bedding sites) and manure application.
