    Section 4 of the above-mentioned Act establishes that the Délîne Agreement is approved, given effect and declared valid, and has the force of law. The Act also rules that the Délîne Got’înê Government is a legal entity and has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person. Furthermore, Délîne law that is made in accordance with the Délîne Agreement and has the force of law. The text consists of 17 sections

    The present Act establishes that the Land Claims and Self-Government Agreement among the Tlicho and the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Government of Canada is approved, given effect and declared valid, and has the force of law. The Act also approves the Tlicho Tax Treatment Agreement. Section 7 establishes that sums required to meet the monetary obligations of the Government of the Northwest Territories under the Tlicho Agreement shall be paid from money appropriated for that purpose out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund. The text consists of 13 sections.

    The present Act provides the Government of the Northwest Territories with authority related to the disposition and use of land, including the disposition of subsurface minerals. Furthermore, it provides the Government of the North West Territories with the authority to lease and sell land, and sets out prohibitions on trespass and the unauthorized use of public lands.

Section 2 of the above-mentioned Act establishes that the Commissioner may designate any area in the Territories as a development area where the Commissioner considers that it will be necessary in the public interest to regulate the orderly development of the area, as contemplated by this Act.

    This Act regulates the management of commissioners’ land, i.e. the lands acquired by the Territories with Territorial funds before, on or after June 27, 1969; public lands the administration of which has before, on or after June 27, 1969, been transferred by the Governor in Council to the Territories; all roads, streets, lanes and trails on public lands, and lands acquired by the Territories pursuant to tax sale proceedings (sect. 2) The Act but does not apply in respect of any mines or minerals under or within such lands.
