    In 2016, Uzbekistan celebrated twenty-five years of independence. Although government prioritized investment in agriculture sector, the social policy emphasized strongly institutional and organizational changes. As a result, women are mostly excluded from reforms’ benefits. This paper provides a critical literature review that addresses how international gender measurement indicators and methodologies help in understanding women’s empowerment and opportunities in the agriculture sector of post-Soviet Uzbekistan.

    The productivity and its performance is one of the core topics of economics studies. The growth of productivity is an indicator of competitiveness, as well as a possible way to achieve economic growth and wellbeing. After joining the EU, the agriculture of the Baltic countries faced increasing competition of the EU Single Market, while having relatively lower productivity indicators.

    Other papers concerning agricultural economics frequently emphasise a problem of low resource productivity. However, the measuring methods are controversial, because they do not consider a progressive depreciation of fixed assets in agriculture and the new utilities of land on the conditions of sustainable development. These preconditions entitle to formulate a hypothesis that a productivity of capital in agriculture in Poland is increasing because of intrinsic values of agricultural areas. This implies a need of rethinking the neoclassical land rent theories.

    In the Republic of Lithuania the average land productivity score is about 41.8. However, in separate elderates it ranges from 30.5 to 55.1. As a result, it determines different intensity of using agricultural farming lands. Research object - agricultural farming lands in rural municipalities of the republic of Lithuania. Aim of the research – identify the intensity of using Lithuanian agricultural farming lands for agriculture.

    This paper attempts to provide an interdisciplinary concept of the bio-economy in the context of environmental changes in the Polish agriculture. Various definitions of bio-economy have been presented and its place in the sustainable development theory has been described.     Since 2004, we have witnessed an increased demand in the acquisition of agricultural property, both by individual farmers and entities not previously associated with agriculture. A significant increase in the transaction prices of agricultural real estate in recent years has been caused by the impact of limited agricultural land supply and external factors related to the functioning of Polish agriculture in the economy of the European Community. The value of agricultural real estate is affected by many factors that are taken into account when determining the value of real estate.
