    These Regulations amend the Registration (Strata Titles) Regulations in relation with application to the Commission of Strata Corporations by a corporation for first registration pursuant to section 4(4) of the Act and renewal of registration, and (application for) waiver or reduction of the prescribed fees pursuant to section 4A of the Act. They amend the First Schedule by adding various forms and insert a Second Schedule.

    These Regulations amend the Real Estate (Dealers and Developers) Regulations in provisions concerning: licences for dealers, registration of dealers, and fees for development. They also insert a new regulation 5A on conditions to e complied with by a developer who wishes to have discharged from any land a charge that has been executed and lodged with the Registrar of Titles in favour of the Real Estate Board.

    An Act to amend the Crown Property (Vesting) Act.

    This Act amends the Crown Property (Vesting) Act so as to establish a National Divestment Committee to advise Minister responsible for Land and Environment. It also empowers the Minister making a divestment Order to exempt certain categories of divestment being routed through the newly established Committee.

    This Order amends the Lands Clauses Act in section 98 so as to amend the monetary jurisdictional level of Resident Magistrates Courts. Section 98 allows the jurisdiction given by this Act to the Supreme Court and to a Judge thereof in respect of money paid into the Treasury under this Act, to be exercised by any Resident Magistrate’s Court if such money does not exceed a specified amount.

    This Order amends the Partition Act in section 14(1) so as to amend the monetary jurisdictional level of Resident Magistrates Courts. Section 14 defines jurisdiction that may be exercised by any Resident Magistrate’s Court. Such jurisdiction is limited by a maximum amount of the value of the property in question.

    This Order amends the Settled Land Act in section 54(8) so as to amend the monetary jurisdictional level of Resident Magistrates Courts. Section 54 defines jurisdiction that may be exercised by any Resident Magistrate’s Court. Such jurisdiction is limited by a maximum amount of the value of land, capital money or personal chattels to be dealt with in the Court.

    This Act establishes the Real Estate Board and provides rules for the registration and operation of real estate dealers, real estate salesmen and real estate developers. It also provides for certain matters regarding development schemes and for inspection by real estate inspectors. Engaging in real estate business for purposes of this Act includes lease of land and the management of land. The functions of the Board shall be to regulate and control the practice of real estate business, the disposition of land in development schemes and the operation of such schemes.

    This Act makes provision for the constitution of Parish Councils in Jamaica, defines their functions and powers, and provides with respect to their election, organization and administration and other relevant matters. Parish Councils shall be corporations and shall be successors to Municipal Boards, the Boards of Parochial Roads Commissioners and Parochial Boards constituted under the Parochial Boards Law, 1885.
