The council of a county may investigate, where they consider it expedient to do so, any proposals for coast protection works within the county under section 2.
Sub-section (2) of section 73 of the Land Act, 1923 ("the Principal Act) shall be construed and have effect and be deemed always to have had effect as if the words "which is at the passing of this Act" were inserted therein immediately after the words "means land" and the expression "tenanted land" shall be construed accordingly in the Principal Act and in this Act.
Under section 3 the Land Commission may impose an obligation on allottees of holding and parcels to reside thereon (sect. 2).
An Act to provide for various matter relative to the purchase of land from the Land Commission in accordance with the Land Act, 1923, including financial matter, appeal against decisions, etc. The Minister for Finance may make rules and regulations for carrying into effect the provisions of this Act relating to land purchase finance, and may by such rules or regulations adapt to the requirements of this Act any provisions relating to land purchase finance contained in any Act passed before this Act (sect. 3).
Section 15 of the Land Act, 1950 is hereby amended by the substitution of "the age of sixty-seven years" for "the age of sixty-five years". Section 15 provides for the age at which Lay Commissioners of the Appeals Tribunal to whom that section refers are to cease to hold office.

An Act to make provisions for various matters relating to land, including land registration, purchase of land and ownership of land, land bonds, land tenure, for powers of the Land Commission in respect of land, etc. Save and except purchase agreements between the Land Commission and purchasers from them no purchase agreement between landlord and tenant for the sale of a holding under the Land Purchase Acts shall after the passing of this Act be lodged with the Land Commission (sect. 18).
Section 17 of the Land Act, 1953, is hereby amended by the insertion, after "registered owners" in subsection (2), of "or have become entitled to be registered as owners".

These Regulations provide for the incorporation into Irish law, in respect of relevant development of Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment. The Regulations modify the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 to 1983 so as to provide a framework for the application of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to the planning control procedures under those Acts, and for the application of EIA to relevant development by local authorities.
