    The present Law lays down provisions relating to a general regional land use planning, a charcoal planning and restructuring planning. Such activities shall be carried out with a view to attain a sustainable development and, in particular, to restrain their impact on the environment. Article 14 of the Ordinance establishes the Charcoal Committee of the Land Brandenburg whose headquarters shall be in Cottbus. Its main function shall be to render acceptable to public opinion the exploitation of charcoal.

    The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the planning of land and soil belonging to the Land Brandenburg. Such land shall be preferably regulated by leases and building rights. Furthermore, the Ordinance shall promote local and regional development, conserve forest areas, waters areas, protect nature, improve agricultural infrastructures, secure agricultural development, and forestry infrastructures.
