    The present Law provides for the implementation of the Federal Land Consolidation Act of 14 July 1953 (BGBl. I p. 591). In particular, article 1 of the above-mentioned Law establishes that the supreme and superior authorities for land consolidation in Schleswig-Holstein are, respectively, the Agriculture, Environment and Rural Space Office, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Space.

    The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to recording of estates in land. The Land Register is held by the local county courts and deals with the business of registration of legal interests in land. The Land Register consists of Land Register Judges (Grundbuchrichter) and special clerks (Rechtspfleger). The normal business of registration is done by the clerks.

    The present Regulation implements the Land Consolidation Act in its version of 16 March 1976 (BGBl. I p. 546) and the Agricultural Adaption Act in its version of 3 July 1991 (BGBl. I p. 1418). In particular, the Regulations lays down provisions relating to cooperation of the Rural Development and Survey Office and the Survey Authorities in procedures concerning the readjustment of rural areas under the afore-mentioned Land Consolidation Act and the Agriculture Adaptation Act.
