    The contracting parties propose to develop cooperation in the field of environmental protection and restoration. Priority areas are air pollution, harmonization of national, regional and international law, neutralization of wastes and recycling, protection of water quality, protection against noise and vibration, protection of biodiversity, exchange of information regarding soil conservation and energy use, protected areas and their utilization, EIA, training, exchange of information regarding the implementation of EC environmental directives.

    The objective of this Law is to specify which movable and immovable cultural and natural assets shall be preserved and to establish an organization which will implement provisions of this Law and to determine its functions (art. 1). "Natural assets" are defined as "valuables from geological, pre-historic and historic are, on surface, under the ground or under water, of which the preservation is essential due to their unique features and beauty". All assets covered by this Law which are known, or shall be discovered in the future, will be considered as state property (art. 5).

    The purpose of this Law is the determination, delimitation, allocation of areas such as ranges, pastures, wintersheds (winter range lands) or highlands to juridical entities like villages or municipalities and making use of them in a manner abiding by the rules, increasing or sustaining productivity through maintenance and improvement, controlling that use continuously, protecting them and changing their purpose of use when necessary. The determination, delimitation and allocation of ranges, highlands and wintersheds are undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

    This Regulation is based on article 21 of Act No. 2924 dated 17 October 1983 and sets forth procedures and principles for providing support to forest villagers whose villages would be moved.Villages where development activities could not be achieved in their present locations and those that should be moved due to soil-water regime, health, military purposes, tourism and forestry will be determined jointly by the local organizations of the Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, General Directorate of Forestry and General Directorate of Rural Services.

    This Regulation (consisting of 20 articles) establishes non-agricultural use of agricultural areas. Allocation of any land other than settlement areas for non-agricultural use is subject to consent of the General Directorate of Rural Services. Class I and Class II agricultural lands can not be used for any other purposes. Also lands that are classified as Class III and Class IV due to insufficient drainage and salinity, but that could be converted in to Class I and Class II by improving can not be used for non-agricultural purposes.

    The objective of this Law which includes 25 articles and 2 supplementary articles is to define the procedure for olive improvement efforts. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is the leading agency for establishing, sowing, grafting and establishing gardens for wild species. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs provides land to those who would apply for olive sowing. Seeds will also be provided by the Government on cost basis. These land will be permanently transferred to those who have engaged in olive planting for five years.

    The objective of this Law which includes 14 articles is to define the registration procedure of marshy lands. Those who wish to acquire land through drying marshy lands that are not possessed by anyone will apply to the relevant Governor, who shall then ask the Prime Ministry whether drying can be made by the State or not. If so, drying should be made within 4 years otherwise it will be considered as being renounced from this right. If drying will not be made by the State then the case will be communicated to the villages and water users' unions in the area. Priority will be for them.
