    This toolkit is the first of its kind to provide information on promoting and protecting the nutritional status of mothers and children in crises and emergencies. Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the most vulnerable regions in the world to major crises and emergencies. This toolkit aims to improve the resilience of the most vulnerable in times of intensified nutritional needs, most notably pregnant and lactating mothers as well as children less than two years of age.

    Secure land rights are important for development and poverty reduction and the greatest challenges for providing such rights are in urban, peri-urban areas, and the most productive rural areas. This publication updates and revises UN-HABITAT’s 2004 publication ‘Urban Land for All’, and stresses the need for policies that facilitate access to land for all sections of their existing and future populations – particularly those on low or irregular incomes.

    L’étude a analysé dans 31 pays l’état de la reconnaissance juridique des droits des peuples autochtones, des communautés locales et des populations afro-descendantes sur le carbone présent sur leurs terres et territoires. Ensemble, ces pays détiennent près de 70 % des forêts tropicales du globe, et cinq d’entre eux disposent des plus grandes surfaces de forêt tropicale : le Brésil, la RDC, l’Indonésie, le Pérou et la Colombie.
