La Asociación Agropecuaria Río Punino se conformó por familias sin tierra de diversos lugares de Ecuador que migraron a la Parroquia Nuevo Paraíso. Ellas comenzaron la regularización del derecho propietario sobre tierras explotadas y abandonadas por MAPRESA-ENDESA. Para legitimar su acceso a la tierra, los campesinos realizaron acciones productivas, organizativas y legales hasta tener sus títulos.
Every day, more and more family/small holder users of land and natural resources find themselves made more insecure, deprived of their resources and evicted from their land. This affects peasants, nomadic herders, livestock farmers, fishermen and fisherwomen, forest dwellers … (Workshops 1, 2, 3, 5). This change is a dramatic one, affecting the whole of humanity. The direct human consequences of this change affect the vast majority of rural residents, who carry out the essential work of food production and contribute to maintaining ecological balance.
Chaque jour, toujours plus de femmes et hommes utilisateurs familiaux et communautaires des terres et ressources naturelles sont précarisés, dépossédés de leur ressources et évincés de leurs territoires : paysannes et paysans, pasteurs nomades, éleveurs, pêcheurs, habitants des forêts… (ateliers 1, 2, 3, 5). Cette évolution est dramatique pour l’ensemble de l’humanité : ses conséquences humaines directes concernent l’immense majorité des ruraux, qui assurent l’essentiel de la production des aliments et contribuent au maintien des équilibres écologiques.
Cada día, más mujeres y hombres, usuarios familiares y comunitarios de tierras y recursos naturales, son precarizados, despojados de sus recursos y expulsados de sus territorios: campesinas y campesinos, pastores nómadas, ganaderos, pescadores, habitantes de los bosques… (Talleres 1, 2, 3, 5). The Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), with support from the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), performed the Ghana Land Tenure Baseline Survey, the first of its kind survey of tenure rights among cocoa farmers in Ghana. CRIG surveyed almost 1,800 cocoa farmers operating 3,900 cocoa plots regarding various land tenure issues within customary sharecropping arrangements and on owner-managed land. This report describes the findings from the Survey.
