    This Order allows for the creation of a nationally significant infrastructure project and associated development described in Schedule 1 and a corresponding marine habitat. There shall be put in place for the affected coastal area a compensation environmental management and monitoring plan and other environmental compensatory measures.

    These Regulations amend the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 so as to give effect to Directive 2003/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, amending Council Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances to which the principal Regulations give effect in Northern Ireland.

    These Regulations amend regulation 2 of the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 so as to give effect to Article 30 of Directive 2012/18/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances. Article 30 concerns classification of heavy fuel oils. Establishments where heavy fuel oils are present in a specified quantity become subject to the principal and, in certain cases, to additional requirements as set out in regulation 3(1) of those Regulations

    This Order amends secondary legislation as a consequence of the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013, which abolishes the system of conservation area consent as it applies to buildings in conservation areas in England (and to provide that planning permission will instead be required). This Order makes consequential amendments to various Rules and Regulations concerning town and country planning procedures.

    These Regulations implement Directive 2001/42/EC of the European Parliament and Council on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programs on the environment, as regards plans and programs which relate solely to the whole or any part of Scotland. Subject to the exceptions, where the first formal preparatory act in relation to a plan or program to which the Regulations apply is after 21 July 2004, the plan or program cannot be adopted, or submitted for adoption, unless it has been subjected to environmental assessment under the Regulations.

    Made under section 18 of the Agriculture Act 1986 which gives the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the power to designate an area of England as an environmentally sensitive area, this Order provides for an agreement between the Minister and a farmer. In the designated area prescribed agricultural methods shall be adopted so as to conserve, protect or enhance environmental features in that area. For this purpose the Minister may enter into a management agreement with any person having an interest in agricultural land in any designated area.

In such area particular agricultural methods shall be adopted so as to conserve, protect or enhance environmental features in that area. For this purpose the Minister may enter into a management agreement with any person having an interest in agricultural land in any designated area.

    Section 18 of the Agriculture Act 1986 gives the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food power to designate areas in England as environmentally sensitive areas where it appears to him particularly desirable to conserve, protect or enhance environmental features in those areas by the maintenance or adoption of particular agricultural methods. This Order designates areas in the Broads, Pennine Dales, Somerset Levels and Moors, South Downs and West Penwith as environmentally sensitive areas (art. 3).
