New evidence points to the importance of understanding not only these direct impacts but also potential indirect impacts, including impacts that can be transmitted around the world through trade, travel, and security.

    Lancé récemment, le processus de renégociation de la Convention relative à l’aide alimentaire (CAA) est passé pratiquement inaperçu du grand public. Élaborée il y a plus de 40 ans entre 23 pays donateurs, la Convention avait pour objectif d’utiliser les surplus céréaliers pour lutter contre la faim dans les pays en développement. Dans le cadre de cette Convention, l’Allemagne a accepté de fournir chaque année 56,24 millions d’euros d’aide alimentaire.

    Les Directives volontaires sur le droit humain à l'alimentation constituent un nouvel instrument de lutte contre la faim dans le cadre du droit international. Elles se révèlent être une arme nouvelle et prometteuse contre la sous-alimentation. Grâce à elles, la politique du développement et les droits de l'Homme s'allient dans la lutte pour le droit à l'alimentation. L'« approche des droits humains » est devenue le nouveau mot d'ordre dans le combat contre la faim.

    At its 42nd Plenary session in 2015, the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) decided to hold a global thematic event at the 43rd session in October 2016 to share experiences and take stock of the use and application of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT), as a contribution to monitoring progress towards VGGT implementation. This second global stocktake on the VGGT is informed by the contributions received from stakeholders.

Parts of the international community prioritize their own security policy interests, the motto being the «war on terrorism». People in fragile states, by contrast, are primarily concerned with their own survival and the quest for development opportunities for themselves and their communities.
