    This Regulation amends articles 2, 5, and 8 of Regulation 289 of 2006. The amendment affects the structure and organization of the ALUIIZC. According to it, the ALUIIZC will have a Tirana-based central department and 27 local departments according to the list introduced by it. Further, the ALUIIZC will be chaired by the General Director and 3 (three) Deputy Directors.

    Amends: Regulation No. 289 of 2006 on the organization and functioning of the Agency of Legalisation, Urbanisation, and Integration of Informal Zones/Construction (ALUIIZC). (2006-05-17)

Farmers can become more competitive when they decrease fragmentation and increase the size of their farms, and rural communities can benefit when consolidation projects include components to improve local infrastructure and the environment.

    Land management policies for coastal areas are confronted with increased pressures of land development and urbanisation. Across the northern Mediterranean countries, governments have adopted policies and implemented incentive and regulatory instruments to manage this phenomenon. For transition countries, the application of these instruments is less effective due to the weakness of the institutional framework.The Albanian coastal area is suffering for the last ten years from an anarchic urbanisation of its former agricultural land.

    The paper uses up-to-date household data from two Northern-Albanian regions. It summarisessocio-economic facts on taking up remunerative non-farm employment and identifies thedeterminants of non-farm income diversification at the farm household level based on a binarylogistic regression. Furthermore, the paper provides insight in the northern-Albanian farmingstructure, migration patterns, attitudes towards and reasons for income diversification into thenon-farm sector.
