    This Ordinance, made under sections 29(3) and (4), 31(2) and (3), 33(4) to (6), 35(2), 43(5), 81 and 89 of the Land Planning and Development (Guernsey) Law, 2005, concerns special development control for protected monuments and buildings and protected trees. The Ordinance, among other things, defines the content of Tree Protection Orders and the effect of such Orders and sets out procedures after the making of an Order and in respect of confirmation of an Order. A register of Tree Protection Orders shall be kept by the States of Guernsey Environment Department.

    This Ordinance, made under the Land Planning and Development (Guernsey) Law, 2005, applies to any application for planning permission under section 14 of the Law for the carrying out of any development of land. The Ordinance defines "EIA" development. Such development is listed in Schedule 1 and a planning permission may not be granted for it unless an EIA has been carried out and the environmental information arising from that EIA has been taken into account in determining the application.

    This Ordinance, made under the Land Planning and Development (Guernsey) Law, 2005, implements provisions of the Act in respect of development plans, subject plans and local planning briefs and related environment impact assessments. The Ordinance sets out various procedural requirements for the adoption of plans, including certification of consistency with Strategic Land Use Plan, and defines content requirements for proposals for the designation of a conservation area.

    This Law provides for land use and development planning in Guernsey and control over development. Its purposes are to protect and enhance, and to facilitate the sustainable development of, the physical environment of Guernsey, to protect natural beauty to preserve and promote biological diversity. A Strategic Land Planning Group shall be appointed from various state offices and shall Strategic Land Planning Group be involved in the preparation or amendment of the Strategic Land Use Plan.

    This Law provides for the preservation of natural beauty of Guernsey and the control of development of agricultural land and for these purposes provides for the appointment by the States of the Preservation of Natural Beauty and Control of Agricultural Land Committee. The Law principally grants legislative powers to the States for the purposes of this Law. Ordinances of the States shall provide for a system of authorization of development of agricultural land and certain activities affecting the landscape.

    This Ordinance provides for the protection of the coast of Guernsey. It prohibits the taking of material or breaking of rocks on the coastline without a permit of the States Board of Administration. The Board may attach to the grant of a permit under this section such conditions (including a condition that the permit shall only be operative during such period as shall be therein specified) as it may deem necessary or expedient.

    This Ordinance implements provisions of the Land Planning and Development (Guernsey) Law, 2005 by prescribing, in its Schedule, use classes for the purposes of the Law and for the purposes of any description used in the Strategic Land Use Plan and any Plan or Local Planning Brief. The Ordinance also provides with respect to minor, ancillary or incidental uses and uses falling without use classes. Specific provision is made for land used for agriculture falling within use class
