This paper aim to analyze the role that such a concepts like family, inheritance and property played for developing modern Argentine society. Especially how some principles were broken on, while others have been kept on, as the different legal criteria suggests. Rural Law of 1865, Civil Law of 1869 and juridical debates set the interaction rules among different notion of property rights and also different way for labor hiring, either into market rules or out of them. These kind of relations and their coexistent avoided to expand cattle business in a market way.

El objetivo del trabajo es examinar la revisión oficial de las "donaciones condicionadas" implementadas en el partido de Azul y la respuesta de la sociedad rural durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. Mediante un análisis principalmente cualitativo de la legislación, prensa, correspondencia, expedientes de tierras y otras fuentes coetáneas, se aborda el marco legal y el accionar social, considerando los argumentos esgrimidos para la puesta en valor de los derechos y el acceso a la propiedad formal.

This paper examines willingness to pay for housing tenure security in favelas in six Brazilian states, Ceara, Paraiba, Pernambuco and in the north-east, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo in the south-east, and Rio Grande do Sul in the south, using data from the national household survey (Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicilios, PNAD) for 2002.
