    This Act amends the Registration (Strata Titles) Act. It, among other things, replacing in section 4 the words "corporation" with "commission". Section 4 concerns the corporation to be constituted by strata lot owners.

    This Order amends the Partition Act in section 14(1) so as to amend the monetary jurisdictional level of Resident Magistrates Courts. Section 14 defines jurisdiction that may be exercised by any Resident Magistrate’s Court. Such jurisdiction is limited by a maximum amount of the value of the property in question.

    This Act makes provision for the division of real property in strata lots, defines rights of common ownership and related rights in relation with a strata plan, and provides for administration of common property and the registration of strata titles.Land under the operation of the Registration of Titles Act may be subdivided into strata lots in accordance with a strata plan registered by the Registrar of Titles in the manner provided by this Act. The proprietors of all the strata lots contained in any strata plan shall, upon registration of the strata plan, become a body corporate.

    This Act makes provision for the constitution of Parish Councils in Jamaica, defines their functions and powers, and provides with respect to their election, organization and administration and other relevant matters. Parish Councils shall be corporations and shall be successors to Municipal Boards, the Boards of Parochial Roads Commissioners and Parochial Boards constituted under the Parochial Boards Law, 1885.

    This Act provides for the management of public gardens, i.e. any land vested in the Commissioner of Lands, and designated by him or any entity acting on his behalf for use as public garden. It also prohibits various activities in such gardens and provides for seizure and impounding of stray animals. prohibited activities include: picking of fruits, plants or flowers; destroying of trees; and injuring of animals.

    This Act makes provision for the use and development of land. The Land Development and Utilization Commission, established under section 12, may with the approval of the Minister, from time to time, by order designate as agricultural land any land, which the Commission considers ought to be brought into use for agriculture.

    This Act makes rules relative to contracts of tenancy of “small holdings” i.e. any parcel of land intended for cultivation or pasturage consisting of not less than one acre nor more than ten acres held under a contract of tenancy. The Act also makes provision for the establishment of Valuation Boards.The Act establishes conditions and criteria for tenancy contracts between landlords and tenants of agricultural small holdings. No crop-sharing clauses may be included in the tenancy contract.

    This Act provides for the constitution of the Land Taxation Relief Board, for the de-rating of land for taxation purposes by the Minister, for the granting of relief from land tax and for appeals to the Minister against decisions of the Board.“Land tax” means property tax, parish rates, water rates, lighting rates or any other tax or rate based on the ownership or occupation of land.
