Kenya is on the road towards commercial exploitation of the Turkana oil resources. Until now, management of benefits from Kenya‟s natural resources is particularly problematic. This assertion is demonstrated by the fact that such benefits have never trickled down to the local people in a very structured way. The failure has led to calls for the putting into place of ways through which natural resource-based benefits should be shared equitably. Picking a cue from the above experiences, Parliament recently published three relevant and interrelated Bills.

Since the onset of the phenomenon of large scale land acquisition for agri-business in Sierra Leone, after the first whistle was blown by Green Scenery, many studies have been conducted by various researchers, some to meet requirements for degree thesis, others for policy and development purposes. Most literature on land tenure in sub-Saharan Africa has presented women as a homogenous group. This study uses evidence from Ghana, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe to show that women have differentiated problems, needs, and statuses in their quest for land access and tenure security. It illustrates how women-to-women differences influence women’s access to land. The Maghreb's oases systems provide a major contribution to the region's food security, economy and natural resources. Despite this potential, oasis ecosystems are threatened by a range of complex factors related to the expansion of agricultural land and increasing scarcity of water resources. The project, implemented by FAO in Tunisia, Morocco and Mauritania from May 2016 to December 2019, brought together key stakeholders to address the lack of available information on the status of oases and to advocate on factual bases shared by all stakeholders and verifiable in the field.
